With our connection to certified Law Enforcement Trainers on autism and safety through CARD (Centers for Autism Related Disabilities) we are working to better develop relationships between families affected by autism and Law Enforcement. By hosting events where families and Law Enforcement and First Responders come together in a fun, relaxed atmosphere, we are actively raising awareness, reducing stigma and educating all parties to breed safer communities through understanding and respect. We are also currently working on a county by county basis to develop voluntary autism-specific registries for Law Enforcement Agencies to provide them with basic information on autistic individuals should there be an emergency call to their residence. This saves Law Enforcement time as they can send officers with specialized autism training to the call, lessens the amount of paperwork for the officers post call, and helps them to better understand the special needs of the autistic individual so they are prepared and informed when they arrive. Ultimately and most importantly, it can save lives.
COMING SOON:
-Live links to voluntary specialized autism registries available nationwide
-Information on Autism Swim Safety programs nationally
-Ongoing updates to resources and education with an emphasis on free or low cost options
Thank you for your interest, we look forward to serving our communities to help keep families and specialized professionals relaxed and informed to keep our loved ones with autism safe and happy!
